Inspiring Strength, Confidence and Healthy Living at Every Stage

This month, we are excited to spotlight Carolyn Smith, the founder of Inspired Fitness Solutions and a passionate health and fitness coach dedicated to supporting women over 40. Through outdoor personal training, wholefood nutrition and a strong sense of community, Carolyn helps women rebuild strength, confidence and vitality in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.

With a strong focus on preventative health, Carolyn empowers her clients to prioritise themselves, create healthy habits that last, and feel strong in every season of life. Her programs, including the popular 16 Week Menopause Reset, are offered both in person and online, making support accessible wherever women are on their journey. Since joining Brava, Carolyn has been a positive and encouraging presence who truly believes in lifting others as she grows.

We caught up with Carolyn to chat about networking, mindset and her vision for the future.

What was the moment you realised networking was a game changer for your business?

I started networking with BNI almost 20 years ago and with Dhea over 10 years ago. It gave me the confidence to really know how to talk about my business and to be interested instead of trying to be interesting.

Networking taught me to listen more, connect on many levels and build genuine relationships. People buy from those they know, like and trust, and without networking you simply do not build the relationships needed to grow a business, especially as a sole trader. It also helps to have others in your corner to bounce ideas off and feel supported.

What is one connection you made through Brava that led to a meaningful opportunity, big or small?

There are too many to name. Everyone is so kind, supportive and encouraging. No matter how many people are in the room, I always walk away with something rewarding.

What is one piece of business advice you wish you had known when you started?

You cannot do it all. You need help.

What business belief or mindset has helped you stay motivated during challenging times?

I have no choice but to remain positive. I truly believe you get what you put out into the universe and that when one door closes, another opens.

You just have to be brave enough to keep going and ask for help when you need it.

How do you want your business or impact to grow over the next 12 months, and how does networking support that vision?

I want my business to double in the next year. I want to help at least 10 women going through menopause have an easier experience and come out stronger, fitter and healthier on the other side.

Getting the word out to women and encouraging them to share with other women is key. Networking plays a huge role in that because it allows those conversations and connections to happen naturally.

Thank you, Carolyn, for sharing your journey, your positivity and your passion for helping women feel strong and supported. Your commitment to health, connection and community is truly inspiring. We are proud to have you as part of the Brava community and look forward to seeing your impact continue to grow.

I’ve been designing websites for more than 15 years and founded Webby Web Design in Melbourne, Australia. My business and digital strategy background means I approach each project holistically, balancing aesthetics with smart business results. I continue to support clients long after launch with training and advice, which is why many have stayed with me for over a decade. Collaboration is central to my process. I partner with copywriters, graphic designers, photographers and marketing specialists so every site tells the right story and reflects cohesive branding. I also run workshops and provide ongoing training because I believe your website should be easy to use and evolve with your business.
